On this day, I started my Sakura Blossom viewing trip!

The duration for Sakura Blossom is not long.  There are a lot of websites to provide the latest situation.  I recommend two of them.

  1. Tenki.jp: Not only can you check the weather, but you also can find out the situation of Sakura blossom.  They also offer app vision.
  2. 桜ナビ: This website also gives some details about the latest infomation about thesakura blossom.

Morning: Roppongi (六本木)

There are a lot of spots for viewing sakura, including the Ropongi Hills (六本木ヒルズ), the Mori garden (毛利庭園) and the Roppongi Sakurazaka (六本木さくら坂).

How to get there:

By bus: “96” from Shinagawa-eki Takanawa-guchi (品川駅高輪口) to the Roppongi Hills (六本木ヒルズ)

Tips:

1. Tap Suica as soon as you get on the bus.

2. The bus shows the names of the stops on the board in Japanese, Chinese and English.

3. Roppongi Hills stop is the terminated stop.

4. I recommend an app “バスNAVI”.  It is a good app to find out the bus routes, timetables and maps.

By train: Take JR Yamanote Line outer (clockwise) circle (JR山手線外回り・渋谷・新宿方面) from Shinagawa Station (品川駅) to Ebisu (恵比寿駅).  And then take Tokyo Metro Hibeya Line (東京メトロ日比谷線) from Ebisu (恵比寿駅) to Roppongi station (六本木駅).

Tips:

1. JR Yamanote Line is circle line, which means you can arrive at your destination anyway.  If you do not want to waste time, you must make sure that the direction is correct.

2. I recommend an app “NAVITIME”.  It is a good app to plan your route since train and MRT system is crazy in Tokyo.

I went to the Ropongi Hills (六本木ヒルズ) and the Mori garden (毛利庭園) since I took the bus and got off at the Ropongi Hills stop.  The Mori garden was stunning.  Not too many people were there.  It’s a bit quiet.

On my way to the Roppongi Sakurazaka, I stopped at a famous dessert restaurant – Lauderdale and I ate my lunch here.

This location was wonderful.  I chose the seats outdoors.  I sat under  the sakura and enjoyed my soufflé.

I like Roppongi because of the atmosphere.  During the morning, there were not too many people here.  However, the scenery was great.

I walked down to the Sakurazaka.  Both sides of Sakurazaka were full of sakura.  Amazing!

The sakura stayed on high, flew to the sky and fell down to the ground soundlessly.  So beautiful!

Afternoon: Tokyo Station

After viewing picturesque sakura, I went to Tokyo station (東京駅) to take the Sky Bus and shop for Japanese desserts.

How to get there: First, take Tokyo Metro Hibeya Line (東京メトロ日比谷線) from Ebisu (恵比寿駅) to Ginza station (銀座駅). And then take Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line (東京メトロ丸の内線) from Ginza station (銀座駅) to Tokyo station (東京駅).

Be careful!  It’s easy to get lost in Tokyo Station!

First, I went to take the Sky Bus.  I had booked it online in advance.  Not only do they offer the Sky Bus courses, but they also provide the Sky Duck and the Sky Hop courses.  I chose the Sky Bus and took the Tokyo Tower route.  You can make a reservation online.  You do not need to pay anything until the day you will join their courses.

I think it’s the most convenient way to visit Tokyo.  You do not need to walk, but you can visit some famous spots.

I went back to the Tokyo Station again.  It was time to eat lunch.

There are loads of restaurants in this area, both inside and outside of the station.

I went to Daimaru (大丸) Department Store and decided to eat Tanpura for lunch.  The restaurant also has a lot of branches, named 天ぷら.新宿つな八.

Actually, I don’t really like this restaurant.  The Tanpura sauce is not hot!  Their flavor is not my cup of tea.  I felt a bit disappointed.

After lunch, I went to the 1st floor of Daimaru Department Store to shop for some desserts.  My husband and I really like Japanese desserts and the Daimaru Department Store is a great place to buy desserts from everywhere in Japan.  Besides the Daimaru Department Store, you can also buy hundreds of kinds of Japanese desserts or snacks inside the Tokyo Station.

I bought a lot and I needed to take a nap, so I went back to hotel first.

Evening: Chidori-Ga-Fuchi City Park

After recharging my batteries, I went to one of the most famous viewing sakura spots - the Chidori-Ga-Fuchi City Park (千鳥ケ淵公園).  It’s near the imperial palace.  The reason why I went there in the evening was because it’s also a good place to view night sakura.

Although the Chidori-Ga-Fuchi City Park had more sakura than Roppongi, there were too many people.  I really Roppongi more.  In addition, Japanese enjoy viewing night sakura.  To be honest, I do not really like night sakura because it’s too dark to view sakura.  In my opinion, Japanese like night sakura because they can have sakura reunion after work.  For me, I was just a tourist who was travelling alone …

The next day, I would home sweet home!
